How do I get the mold smell out of my towel and wash cloths.?

I wash them and dry them really well, but sometimes when they get wet I can smell the mold. Do any of you out there know what I can use to get the smell out?How do I get the mold smell out of my towel and wash cloths.?
Add a cup of white vinegar to the final rinse...How do I get the mold smell out of my towel and wash cloths.?
bleach in the wash
wash with clorox
i agree with lily especially if they are colored fabric i use arm and hammer and laundry soap together works like a charm
wash them with arm and hammer baking soda and use dryer sheets
You have to use bleach on your whites and light colors. You really can't get out body secretions if you don't. On the dark towels, you can use something like Clorox for colors.
Either baking soda or (if it's really bad) PineSol.

If you dry them really well, how are they getting moldy (I presume you actually mean ';mildew-y';)?
Rewash them in wrm or hot water. And than use vinegar in your rinse cycle
I have always added ammonia to my regular detergent, plus a little fabric softener in the rinse cycle. The ammonia not only gets out any mildew, but also the sweaty smell from your towels. Another bonus ammonia brightens colors and whites.
There are a couple things you can try. One person has already mentioned bleach which is a great mold killer. But it does nothing to get rid of the smell. What you can do is put your bath linens through the wash cycle with bleach and then in the start of the rinse cycle add half a cup of baking soda to the water in addition to your regular fabric softener.

Always be sure that you put your rinsed laundry right into the dryer and dry thoroughly before folding and putting away.

Try to keep the bathroom as moisture free as possible -- update your vent with a newer and larger vent that will pull out more moisture from the bathroom when it is in use. You may also want to get one of those towel warmer/dryers that can be installed in the bathroom so that they dry between uses thus helping keep mold from settling into the fibers of your towels and wash cloths.

Also after using the bath/shower, make the tub/shower a less hospitable place for mold by spritzing %26amp; wiping down with a water %26amp; bleach solution -- 5 parts water to 1 part bleach is great for killing off mildew and a lot of other molds.
Try washing your washing machine-

Run a full size load when the machine is empty using 2-3 cups of bleach %26amp; the normal amount of detergent. Use warm or hot water. Do an extra rinse to ensure the bleach is rinsed out.

You can also try keeping a box of baking soda in your linen closet.
use oxyclean in won't hurt color and sun dry if possible that will do it.
Borateem/borax is excellent at getting out any mildew/mold smell, body oils/skin left behind and is an excellent freshener
hey, i had the same problem and what i did was switch to washing in cold water since that seems to activate the liquid detergents better and sustain the cleaning agents inside of them a little longer than hot or warm water does, i would prefer to use tide or gain since they have a bolder cleaning power than the other leading detergents. when drying i would advise new bounce with pure essentials with aloe and white lilac scent for a fresh touch of goodness for your fabrics.
I had the same problem so I bought some Borax in the laundry detergent isle and I used it for my towels.. Wash in hot water with regular detergent and add 1/2 cup Borax to the wash. It gives your detergent a boost to clean better. My towels smell so much better.
